MobilizeTerror 05-01-2005 03:18 PM

I play an older Pearl Export (with the full length lugs), with all remo heads, except for my batter bass drum head, which is an Evans EMAD. My cymbals are all Sabians ..B8 (yea, I know ..****ty) AA's, and AAX's. I don't really care what kind of sticks I use but lately I've been using Vic Firth cause they are on sale at my local music store :D. I am in a band, can't really put us in a genre, mix of different genres I guess.. Closest to punk I guess you could say. I don't really Idolize any drummer, I guess Travis Barker is pretty good haha..

Soundgardener 05-01-2005 06:32 PM

I have a sixty's ludwig set with sabian crash and hi-hat with a newer Zildjian Ride. I'm tryin to save up for a new set, but until I get a job this summer I'm gonna be happy playing the set I've got. I use Vic Firth also...hehe...either Danney Carey signature stick ,or 55A. My Idol's are Bonham (as you can see), Neil Peart, Jon Theodore, Steve Gadd etc.

I've got a rubbish kit, I just picked it up at a sale for cheap, it came with Pearl cymbals but some really bad drums, the brand is Percussion Plus, they are horrible... So I take advantage of the kit at my school... Heh heh. I'm not in a band at this point in time. My main influences would have to be... Hmm, Dave Grohl is pretty high up there, Bud Gaugh and Josh Freese, ah, I reckon he is amazing! I like the modern drummers as you can see, haha

bohemian 06-08-2005 12:17 PM

I play drums...and I'm a girl (contreversial eh?)
I use a Mapex kit, actually I use 2, with sabian and paiste cymbals (mostly sabian pros, aax and hh, paiste rude). I use longer 7A sticks, just whatever ya know? Usually Vic Firth, or Zildjian because they do some awesome sig sticks, they're orange...forgotten the artist. Never mind. Ummm...influences would include people like Dave Weckl, Thomas Lang, Gregg Bissonette, Chris Bailey, Ian Paice (majorly), drummer for the Blockheads to name a few. I play in a jazz band, wind band, rock band and pop band.

Drumwaka 06-09-2005 02:17 AM

I play drums in 3 bands atm. and i play rock/ metal mostly. IV got a 6 piece premier kit with paiste symbols and 15 inch hi hats... a 16inch power crash a 20 inch dixie and a 20 inch power ride (which makes one hell of a sound!) Recently i bought a pearl double bass pedal for £200 and splash and an 18 inch crash (sabien pro sonics) sticks.... usually 5A but im trying out some carbon sticks and i havnt brokn them yet! influences... gotta b joey jordison from slipknot... an amazing drummer. I aspire to be able to play at that level one day. :D

Drum

Hey Everyone.

I love seeing so many drummers in one place. Bonzo is by far the greatest drummer to grace this earth. As for newer drummers, please check out Derek from FFTL. He's pretty mental. Normally I hate people that use double bass pedals. It's cheating. You can do just as much on a single pedal as a double. At least a single takes some skill. I do want a double bass pedal just for kicks (note the hilariously unfunny pun). It's fun to mess around on sometimes. Right now I'm on a 2001 six piece Premier kit in a beautiful Mahogany finish. Two offset mounted toms, two floors, snare, kick. I'm using an amazing Tama pedal right now. I only use Sabian cymbals. I have I believe, 7 cymbals on my set right now:
-12" Crash
-16" Crash
-14" Crash
-10" Splash
-20" Ride
-16" China
-and a massive 25" Ride from my old Cronet set from when I was like, seven or eight.

I've been drumming since I was four. I am now 17. I am currently in two bands: A Red Light Love Affair (Screamo-core), and Studslonigan (80s Metal/Rock). I also have two solo bands going. One is Topenga, where I play all the instruments in a normal band. Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, Vocals, etc. I have an EP out now (Pedal K). I also have a purely acoustic solo thing going under the title Comforting Carly. Just me and my acoustic. I'm actually recording in my dad's studio tomorrow. I'm hoping to get a couple tracks down and set up a purevolume site. For now, keep rocking, and check out:

BreakOut 06-18-2005 04:06 PM

Well, I guess, I'm the eclectic one of the bunch. I play a djembe (African hand drum, for those of you not in the know); Remo synthetic head, but wow, is it still awesome.

bohemian 06-20-2005 03:41 PM

BreakOut, that's way cool, I'm in an African Drumming group, I play djembe too. We compose our own stuff, atm we're working on an agbadze for a ternary form thing. I'm the "master drummer", so I've gotta improvize a call and response section too!
Is that the kind of thing you do at all?

BreakOut 06-21-2005 05:41 PM

Well, most of what I do is pretty much improvised. I'm the percussion section for a local band I belong to, so I haven't had much of a chance to learn the traditional things. I wish I could find a teacher close by, because listening to tapes is not that useful at all. A friend of mine and I, though, did end up doing a long duet for part of our performance one night, though.

SpeaknSpell 06-21-2005 07:03 PM

o maan i dont remember the last time i played drums in a group...prolly two years or so. i miss it. my pearl is just sorta sitting in my room for no one to hear but me...and the neighbors lol its loud.
