Distortion Pedal for Acoustic Guitars
 

So, this sounds super cheesy, but I was watching some youtube videos the other day and a band that I really like was using a distortion pedal on an acoustic guitar, and it sounded pretty cool. I decided I should look into that, see if it might be a good addition to the sound my band is going for.
Trouble is, I have no idea what brand I should get. Do you guys have any suggestions about what kind of distortion (or overdrive?) pedal would be good for an acoustic guitar? Any tips would be great. Thanks!

Its very difficult to get that to work.

Not because of the sound, but because if you ever play live, at any volume level (even quietly), the acoustic guitar will feed back the moment you put the distortion onto it. Slightly less so if you're using a pickup or Piezo saddle pickup, but still VERY easily.

Look into this guys setup, he's an incredible player, and uses dist with acoustics, although his gear is probably more than what you'd be willing to invest.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. As for the feedback, I think that I'd be okay if I get a sound-hole cover (is there another name for that?). That should take care of feedback. I've been meaning to get one anyway, truth be told.

Probably the band u like used to record it with a regular electric guitar with a distortion and then in the clip they used acoustic , but u can reach a good sound with a guitar that does not scream ( FEED BACK )

i really wont suggest doing that, just use a electric one , sounds 140% better
