Seriously, so far i only know of two bands that feature tuba as a "bass guitar substitute" : Drums and Tuba and SandMandMandM. They both rock Fight the power young brutha'.

*Nods.* You hardly see tubas anymore in anything other than high school bands. Kinda sad.

I'm currently playing on a 6-string Ibanez SR 406 bass. I love the neck and body on it, but intend on hotrodding the electronics in it. Maybe some active EMG's w/an active preamp and EQ. I've had (in the past) a 4-string Fender, Spector, and Lado, and a 5-string Lado, but got tired of changing from a Low B to a high C all the time, so traded it in on my 6-string. Haven't looked back since!!!

Cheers,

I play bass, 4 strings. It's a B.C. Rich Beast, 24 frets. And it's black.

My boyfriend has an Ibanez. I think if I'm going to buy another bass later on, I'll buy an Ibanez. Would you recommend it?

yea i am going to be learning to play here soon and i was wondering if anyone could recomend a good bass to get i currently and looking at getting a bass pack so i get the amp too but not sure what do you guys think? peace

Well, I wouldn't recommend getting a bass that's the only one up in the store. When I got mine, it was the only model there, and it was defective like you wouldn't imagine. Then they broke the horn at the top, and I had to buy a new battery for it. They gave me so much trouble, and I still had to pay around 700-800$ Canadian for it -_-

But I'm not sure about brand names.

OLP Basses are awesome and play great, high quality. Available from www.musiciansfriend.com . They don't come in a pack, but you can easily get a starter amp from the same site.

I just want to give a plug to Carvin's Red Eye Bass amps and cabinets. I've never played through one, but Carvin's an awesome "factory direct only" company and the amps look KILLER, especially the 2x10 combo. Check em' out on carvin's website www.carvin.com

thanks phoenix i will look into some of those

i think the pack was a fender squire pack but it only came in black and i want a green or purple or orange one ....... i just like odd colors 0o

phoenixflames 06-16-2005 11:11 AM

^ I don't think they make any of the OLP basses in odd colors like that. I know they have a pearl blue with perloid pick guard (the kind I have), black with perloid pick guard, and they also make a natural finish model as well. You could always just repaint it if you are good at such things. Just make sure you mask everything off and that you don't get a ton of runs in the paint. Good luck!
