Personally, I think no matter what, they just won't sound that great. I would invest in a small practice amp. I have the mini Vox tube amp for about 100 bucks. It goes from 1/10 of a watt of power to 4 watts. That should work for you plenty. It sounds a lot better too, pretty smooth.

AKG K240s. Best bang for your buck, imo. They sound better than Beats or Bose, and they don't break the bank. I've seen 'em as low as $79 recently, but they're usually around $99. They're studio monitors, too, so you're getting a pristine and realistic image of the sound, not some bull**** with crappy mids and too much low end.

EDIT: They're going for $69.87 on Amazon right now! Dear God! Snap those puppies up!

ThePhanastasio - Thanks for the suggestion, I will check those out! It's so hard when I don't know a lot about this stuff and there's so many different opinions out there. I'm okay with spending more, as long as I'm buying the a good product!
I can absolutely guarantee you that the AKGs are WELL WORTH every penny spent. I'd spend $125 for them, if that was what they were going for. Shoot, I'd spend the same price for them that they're charging for Beats. They're the best headphones I've ever placed on my ears, and they can stay on there for HOURS. They're semi-open, the headband is VERY adjustable, and they don't make your ears sweat like crazy.

They're big, but they're super comfy.
