P-90's

My fav pick up type. I have a Fralin loaded Lag Roxanne and a Hamer Artist with Phats. I love the clarity of single coils, but the P-90 sound is more aggressive and biting.

I have a Schecter Ultra-III with 3 Duncan Designed mini humbuckers which are pretty close to a P90 - I think. I like the sound of the humbucker either bridge, or neck position. They sound better alone, just as a humbucker, if they are split or in parallel with another p-up they either loose volume or loose some of the hi's.

sorry, not P-90

Mini humbuckers, I've read somewhere, were similar to a P-90 sound but in noise cancelling construction. They definitely have a different sound than a Fender single coil. Full size humbuckers vary widely, some hotter than other, each with a different frequency response, but most consider both the P-90 and the mini-humbucker to be in the middle of the single coil and humbucker.

Mini humbuckers are humbuckers. Different design

Mini humbuckers and humbuckers have the same design, but differ in size, and have different output and tone, but then even among regular humbuckers there are different output and frequency responses too. I didn't say they "were [exactly] P-90s" just that they were close to them comparable to other pick-ups.
