Boss RC-30 Looper Pedal | HELPPPPP PLEASE!

So for those who have a Boss RC-30, or don't but somehow know a solution to this, I have a problem... I turned on my Boss RC-30 and wanted to record on my pedal I just got. So I click the left pedal.. I realize that when I click it again, I'm not making any sound at all with it. THEN I NOTICED... the mini red light next to my mic input level isn't on. The rest of the other lights are on, but not this. I check if I have phantom power on. Yes it's on because I have a AT2020 Condenser Microphone with a GLS 25 foot XLR Cable. But even with the mic plugged in, it's not detecting it. So I remove the XLR cable and wiggle it around the input.. and sometimes at a certain spot, the red light turns on! What do I do? I JUST BOUGHT THIS AND I'LL BE REALLY DISAPPOINTED AND SADDENED TO SEE THIS BOSS RC-30 ALREADY BROKEN W/O EVEN EXPERIENCING THE USE OF IT...

To see what I'm talking about exactly, go to google and type in boss rc-30. Look at the front of it and where it says Mic on the top right, it has a mini circle that should turn bright red when a mic input is plugged in. As I already said though, in my case.. it doesn't.. need a fix please.. anyone that knows the problem..

thank you and God bless!

apparently the red light isn't supposed to be on when plugged in, but then what is the problem? why is my mic still not makin sound? is it one of my equipment? I use Altec Lansing speakers.

It might be a bad cable, either in the input or output. Try using a different cable for the output. If that doesn't make a difference, try using another microphone cable. A cable tester is well worth the relatively small price...

Usually when I have a problem like that and I'm sure everything's hooked up properly, it almost always turns out to be a bad cable.
