Best Digital Guitar Multi effects for Live Gigs
 

I am Planning for a Digital Multi Effects. two on my List:
BOSS ME-80 or The LINE6 POD HD series.

i am confused as to wheather which one would be the best choice for me.
Sound wise, i came to read HD series knocks out the ME 80 (dont know if thats true)
But i also read the HD series is more meant for Recording session and not for Live play and the ME series is for Live play.
My main and Only emphasize is LIVE PLAY & LIVE GIGS . i need it only for that.
can someone kindly advise me as to which sound & choice would be the best or if there is anymore other best alternative.

You're probably sorted now but if I was you I would try out the Zoom G5.
For about 12months now I've been using my Zoom G5 for gigging and been very impressed with this fx unit. Its very easy to use, without looking at it right now I think I can use 9 fx's at once which is very handy for having multiple delay fx, more delay choices than the Boss GT100. Its basically like having separate stomp boxes and can be set in any line up order. The way I set mine up is through the fx loop on my amp ( H&K tubemeister36) this gives me a great tone for the modulation fx but for distortion I've a couple of joyo pedals going through the front end of the amp. Another great advantage on the Zoom G5 is the booster function. I've had the Boss Gt 100 a great solid looking unit but found the Zoom G5 easier to setup, easier to use for live situations and sounds less digital in MHO

old post yet still i'd like to post my opinion. why bother buying digital multi effects? they are usually bad.
i mean it's better to either buy a digital (single effect) as it will be much more perfected than these multi effect units. and even better especially when you are looking for your sound. and again i would suggest you try analog (i know alot of people they are gonna debate this, and they are right also) yet i find myself struggling with this question (analog / digital) and some effects do sound better analog rather than digital... also a matter of taste...

Multi-effects pedals never give enough control, usually limiting you to adjusting each effect one by one. What kind of loser just turns one knob at a time?

hahahaha true true true. i m always saying even if it's digital or analog it doesnt matter as long as it's not multieffect machine ahahaha. sorry but i never liked them and i played lots of them ;)
