Best guitar
Im going to switch from accustic ro electric and i was wondering what brand you would suggest?
|
GIBSON!
/Epiphone for cheaper. but if you're looking for that non emo sound I suggest Fender. I mean...... If you're beginning on electric anyway Fender is the way to go. Tele or Strat should work. |
also depends what style you intend on playing?
|
a gretsch
|
I suggest gibsons, but you definatly can't go wrong with an Ibanez

You just have to get out there and play a bunch of em'. Go to as many music shops as you can and play as many guitars as yo can get your grimy little paws on (don't feel like your'e imposing, that's how they sell instruments). Everybody's tastes are different, and an acoustic is different enough from an electric that I wouldn't go on just someone else's suggestion. My suggestion? Try a Fender Telecaster, just because, stylistically, they're very versatile guitars, but try everything else out too.

Thank you. You have been ever so helpful :)

Hey, phish, what was the one your girlfriend's dad is letting you borrow? That's one is kickass
|
the gibson les paul signature, yeah if you have $2,000 laying around pick your self up one
|
But of course, because i have a whole FIVE DOLLARS!
|
don't get of topic
|
I'd go with a Gibson or a Washburn. Or if you're feeling keen, an Ibanez 555-BK . . . so sweet
|
if you want rich tones, near perfect balance and a nice classy look go with a PRS
|
Harley Benton do some amazing cheaper versions of most guitars. Great for those of us who only do a few gigs a year.

fender and gibson is great.
but i have a pair of framus which sound brilliant |

Hi,
it really depends on your budget. If resell value is important to you and you want something flexible, I would suggest getting one of the cheaper fender HSS strats. Standard or Mexico. |
My Favorite Guitar
I have had many acoustic guitars. For my playing style my all time favorite is my Martin 000-16RGT. Solid Spruce Top, Rosewood back and sides.
My Electric is a made in Japan Strat. Dumbest guitar I ever sold (it still hurts to type it 40 plus years later) My 70's ish tele that looks like the one on the Springsteen Album, ouch for $100 |
Are you looking for a specific style or genre to play, like rock, blues, or metal? The brand choice often depends on that. Also, do you have a budget in mind?

A $99 Guitar Is All You Need The $99 E.T.A. Squier Strat |

There's an interview with Johnny Dowd (I'll post it if I can find it) where he says you don't to spend more than $200.00 for a good guitar. It's true, you don't have to spend thousands on a guitar to sound professional when you're playing live. |
For beginners switching to electric, Yamaha and Squier by Fender are great picks—affordable, reliable, and easy to play. Squier’s Stratocaster is especially popular for its classic feel and tone.

The higher end Epiphones are nice and have come a long way. But best thing to do is test out guitars. I never in my right mind thought I would be a tele player. But when I tried a tele deluxe for the first time it was a match made in heaven lol
