Name of instrument used in Edward Sharpe's Mayla?

Hi,

I would like to see if anyone can tell what kind of instrument that is used in the song Mayla by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero. The first time the instrument is heard is 5 sec's into the song.You can also hear it around 40s and 50s.

Any ideas?
