s/t was a good album
evil empire sucked hard
battle of los angles was good
renegades of funk was teh suckage
and people say theyre great and by opinion theyre struggling for mediocore

Rage Against The Machine is good, but they really are incredibly overated. Then there's Nirvana.

That's your thoughts. But look at the music of the era they played in. There was no one that was like them, or close. They were original and will own no matter what.

I thought the album Renegades was good, it was a step into a different direction.

^ I agree. I think they delivered power like no other band. Zach and co. took "pissed off" to a whole new level. I know Urban calls their lyrics ham-fisted but I thought they rallied emotion and peoples spirit like never before. The only other place you could find channeled anger like RATM was by looking into rap. RATM was, and still is, a breath of fresh air.

I also liked the Renegades album, they pull it off well.

*Waits for someone to mention someone who sounds nothing like the them.*

they were original.
and my comments were based on musicianship not sensationalism.
in my opinion they had 2 good albums.
i just dont think theyre impressive enough to be called as great as they are.

So basing it on musicianship can still prove that they are great (fanboy is kicking in). Zach was a phenominal rapper (when he freestyled) and he had perfect spanish pronounciation (spelling?) of words. Tom is a man of innovation, he could make his guitar sound like a mouthed beat box or a turn table being scratched. Timmy C. had a phat bass tone and kept a great backing rhythm. Brad is a great drummer with a good feel. Together they sounded amazing and were a great band. If you are going to be downing them based on their musicianship because you don't like them then stop. They were far more innovative than any band during the 90s

all those things you said were atleast partially true but when you write 20 measures (not counting tom's solos) of music and repeat it through a 3 or 4 minute time period im not impressed
