Hip Hop Poll: Round 3, Public Enemy Vs. The Wu-Tang Clan

As much love as I have for The Wu. I have to go with Public Enemy no doubt that about it.

Discuss.

Janszoon 02-17-2011 08:25 AM

Public Enemy for me, though I'm predicting the Wu is going to win this one.

The Shaolin and the Wu-Tang all the way!

I'd only consider Public Enemy for historical importance. I can't get into their old school rap style like I can with The Wu's lo-fi production. Not to mention their numerous side projects...

Well Wu is obviously gonna take this. I hope Wu wins it all cause I wanna see if James follows through on his claim he will stab someone, and I want to see who is the victim.

Kirby 02-18-2011 04:22 AM

Voted for the Wu.

:shycouch:

I hope it's not me.

wow.....how disrespectful to vote for Wu-Tang over Public Enemy, you all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Sparky 02-20-2011 11:21 AM

Public enemy is great, but i feel like they're music hasn't aged that well.

djchameleon 02-20-2011 11:46 AM

It's not even about their music aging well it's about their massive influence all loads of future artists.

Sparky 02-20-2011 12:11 PM

You don't think wu tang clan had massive influence?

djchameleon 02-20-2011 12:40 PM

yes they have but not in the way Public Enemy has. I feel like because they came out before Wu they were pioneers at their time so they have been around longer to be influential to more artists.

I guess that shouldn't be a factor but imo it is.

There would be no sense in making a poll if we were picking artists based on objective values.

but we are picking the artists based on whatever personal reason

I choose to do it from objective values while you and others pick from a personal enjoyment stand of view.

That is fine. The point of the poll is to be casual so you could vote for the artist you like for w/e reason. I am just pointing out the reason why I voted for who I voted for.
