People have been taking pictures of themselves since the dawn of cameras. The only difference now is that A) we have someplace to put them (Facebook) other than some photo album nobody ever sees, and B) with digital cameras and cell phones we no longer have to worry about wasting film and the time needed to wait for developing said film, so nobody is worried about taking a bad pic of themselves, which means that people take off-the-cuff selfies rather than setting up a shot and then getting Uncle Ned or some homeless guy to do it for them. To be honest I'm finding myself more annoyed by people complaining about selfies than the actual selfies themselves these days. Quit whining about everything FFS.

Alright, so I voted "she's a dumbass" because I do see why it's inappropriate even though I'm not offended. Why isn't there an "indifferent" option?

If was someone's deliberate intention to make light of Auschwitz in a derisive manner it would most definitely be wrong. And if it was done unwittingly in a cavalier manner then it was done in poor taste. I don't think both should draw the same reaction.

I don't know what Princess Breanna was thinking at the time, so I am not incline to judge her too harshly.

To be fair, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial is carved into the face of a site that's sacred to the Lakota and which was seized from them by the US government. Because of that, it's actually pretty controversial to many people.
