Apparently I haven't shared my new listens & purchases in this thread since December 1, so I've got some catching up to do. I did spend a lot of time last month creating a Top 100 tracks of 2015 list to share with friends, along with my year-end top 10+ albums list. Anyway here's the new stuff I've listened to since (downloads and streams). I'll skip a few of the less interesting things for everyone's sake.

The Black Dog - Neither/Neither (2015)
I hadn't listened to the last few Black Dog releases but a colleague mentioned it, so I checked it out. Only two plays so far but I think it's quality - more chill up front and then some more punchy tunes in the later half.

Naomi Punk - The Feeling (2012)
I've only played it once all the way through but it's some interesting punk, not fronted by a female as their name might suggest. Garage/post-punkish I think.

Pink Floyd - 1965: Their First Recordings (2015)
I forgot this was coming out and didn't try to score a copy, but I downloaded it. Interesting early Floyd material worth checking out if you like the early Syd stuff.

Fake Palms - Fake Palms (2015)
This has a good bit in common with Viet Cong, and they're also from Canada. Somehow a little more gritty in the production, and lacks the more polished and truly great songs like "Continental Shelf" from Viet Cong's album. But if you dig that sound, check this out.

André Bratten - Gode (2015)
A chill tech house/IDM album from a Norwegian producer. Good for the commutes.

Ilitch - 10 Suicides (1980)
This caught my eye because it was just re-released. Never heard of this before that. Minimal wave, experimental, it was alright and would need more listens to sink in.

Clarence Clarity - No Now (2015)
Alternative R&B, Glitch hop, etc. Some great cuts but the album as a whole was very long and ended up being a bit of a sensory overload.

American Wrestlers - American Wrestlers (2015)
Lo-fi Indie Pop that I wish was a little less lo-fi. Nice tunes and melodies.

Royal Headache - High (2015)
Power pop kinda like The Replacements I think. I'm still not sure about the guy's voice, but I could get used to it.

Surfer Blood - 1000 Palms (2015)
First time I've listened to a Surfer Blood album. I had it in my 2015 queue and a few tracks caught my attention, such as "Island" which is really great. A few others are good ("Point of No Return", "Dorian"), but after 3 listens I still wasn't loving the rest.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Deaf Wish - Pain (2015)
Australian indie/noise rock that reminded me of Sonic Youth a couple of times ("Sex Witch" sounds like a Kim Gordon song). Not bad overall.

The Blind Shake - Fly Right (2015)
Garage punk from Minneapolis. They've got a handful of other releases but this is the first I've heard.

Darkstar - Foam Island (2015)
I liked their last album News From Nowhere quite a bit but I don't know about this one. Weird talking between almost every track kept me from really getting into the music itself.

Pole - Wald (2015)
Good electronic/IDM stuff, just need to listen more to have something to say.

MED, Blu & Madlib - Bad Neighbor (2015)
Just one play so far, didn't love it but it could grow on me.

Wolf Eyes - I Am a Problem: Mind in Pieces (2015)
I've known of them for some years but hadn't listened to them until now. Noise and experimental rock - seems cool, but need more listens to see if it's worth anything.

Zomes - Near Unison (2015)
I was made aware of this by Dischord Records' Facebook page, as Zomes features someone from Lungfish. I don't remember who. Anyway this is Art/Ambient Pop I guess, with female Swedish vocals. I particularly liked the track "Syster", not sure if the rest is my thing but it's pretty chill.

Life Stinks - You'll Never Make It (2015)
Punk/indie rock.

Rival Consoles - Howl (2015)
Cool IDM. I gave it 4 stars after 2 listens so that's good.

Helvetia - Nothing in Rambling (2012)
Really digging their latest Dromomania lately, including the bonus LP, so I figured I should check out some other recent material as I hadn't listened to anything new by them since 2008. This was good. Oh it's indie rock with a bit of neo-psych I suppose, but not electronic-like, just a bit trippy.

David Bowie - ★ (2016)
I haven't listened to anything new from David Bowie since...well I think Low was the most recent thing I heard and I was just a year old when it came out. Anyway I heard the title track a few weeks ago and intended to eventually listen to the album, but with news of his passing this morning I jumped on the bandwagon and wanted to hear it for context. Not bad, and certainly impressive considering he was basically on his death bed.

CZARFACE - Every Hero Needs a Villain (2015)
I just posted this in the Albums You're Digging thread so needless to say, I'm digging it. I'm not much into the newer hip-hop acts that are getting attention these days, but I like a good 90s-style boom bap hip-hop album with good vocal samples, or brief skits. This very much has a Company Flow, Wu-Tang, MF Doom, Madvillain sound to it - what you'd expect from the cover art and album title.

Alamah by Ptarkh (2009)

I sort of stumbled upon this a while ago, and like it quite a bit. The sort of dark ambient/industrial mix that I've dug a lot since I rarely see the sun these days. Sounding like it was recorded in a cellar (or maybe some old barracks in this case) is a nice prerequisite to me liking it.

One of the first bands I ever got into and probably the best band involved in the whole underrated Brit-Funk movement of the early 80s.
Linx were the results of 2 men mainly, singer David Grant who went on to become a solo singer and eventually a TV presenter in the UK, and also bassist Sketch Martin, who after the break up of Linx in 1982 would go on to join post punk funk mainstays 23 Skidoo who he still plays for today.

Took them nearly 30 years to release it on CD for the first time.

Is it at all similar to 23 Skidoo?

Spoek Mathambo—Father Creeper
This album is hard to categorize. Sometimes it sound like experimental hip hop, sometimes it sounds like indie rock or 80s art rock or post punk, sometimes it sounds like weirdo R&B, sometimes it has guitar that sounds like it belongs on a highlife track, but somehow it never feels like manic genre-hopping and is very much of a piece. Good stuff.

Looks like an updated cover of Sleep's record.

The entire sound collage comic book-y intro's in Doom albums and wu-tang affiliate records are wonderful. Love this record
