Imo the orchestra and John Williams sacrifice some musical talent in order to make their music sound more menacing. Still not sure if it's a lack of talent or a lack of trying, but they make it work.

I really don't think the sith theme is that generic. Besides, the point of the score is to emphasize the emotion within the film's story. The lack of musical talent in SoaD isn't the same thing. John Williams is way more creative and does an excellent job at using his musical talent to make amazing tracks. Even if the tunes are generic (and I can't think of one that is), he finds ways to make them work very well within the story. And tbh, this all depends on the definition of generic.

SoaD used a technique in the intro that's been done way too often. Whereas every Sith theme I know is not solely about musical talent, but about being sychronizing with the story.

I'm sure you can find me "generic" John Williams tracks, but I can't think of any related to Star Wars or Indy.

Sigh. You take me too seriously sometimes. Quit getting hung up on the intro and look at the big picture because you're probably arguing against a strawman at this point.

Probably. I'll just say the intro's the only real problem I have. Other than that, great album. It gets almost fantastic near the end. 86/100. Next comes Deftones, which I'm greatly looking forward to.

Incredibly groovy live version of Gypsy Woman. Great vocal freakouts and some really juicy guitar playing.

John Carpenter's Lost Themes Vol I and II.

Instantly transported to his spooky late 80s dystopian world.

Gov Mule-Banks of the Deep End

"On the banks of the deep end,
Where your soul is your best friend..."

I'm just wondering is it too early to drink? Hell no.
