It's that time everyone...for the 6th induction into the MB Hall of Fame.

Below is the list of eligible nominees, and the rules in case you've forgotten them.

The nominees are:

The Residents

Iron Maiden

Jimi Hendrix

Creedence Clearwater Revivial

Mission of Burma

Ludwig Van Beethoven

How this works:

If you have over 100 posts under your name then you can vote, feel free to voice your opinions if you have less posts though.
There won't be a poll, votes will be made publically by posting in this thread. You can vote for yes or no as many times as you want, as long as there's an explanation for your vote. If you haven't heard enough so feel you can't decide you can abstain.
So a post here would look like....

The Residents: Yes, because....
Iron Maiden: No, because....
Jimi Hendrix: Yes, because...
etc.

The artists that get 2/3rd Yes votes for them get in, easy as that. Those who don't get in can still be nominated at a later date.

This'll be open for a week and a half, since people seem to be confused remember you are voting what YOU think should be in the Hall Of Fame, not what you think others would want or whatever.

The Residents: Yes: Not everyone's cup of tea, but they deserve in for their sheer inventiveness, influence and decades-spanning body of work. One of the original avant-rock bands.

Iron Maiden: Yes: classic band who never cease to kick my arse.

Jimi Hendrix: Yes. No explanation necessary.

Creedence Clearwater Revival: N/A.

Mission of Burma: No. What's so special about them?

Ludwig Van Beethoven: Yes.

The Residents: Yes, because the amount of downright genius things they've done and ground they've broken is unmeasurable in number.

Iron Maiden: Yes, because they might just be the greatest metal band ever. They're the cream of the crop of the NWBHM which is the cream of the crop of metal.

Jimi Hendrix: Yes, because he was one of the greatest showmen of all time as well as one of the best guitar players ever. Despite not doing as much as most other artists he's one of the most unique and special musicians to ever live.

Creedence Clearwater Revivial: Never saw anything special in them, but I withhold a vote because I lack experience with their discography.

Mission of Burma: I've heard very little.

Ludwig Van Beethoven: Yes, one of the greatest classical composers of all-time deserves to get in. Wrote some of my favorite pieces ever.

The Residents - Yes, from what I've heard they've definitely put more than enough interesting and provocative material out to justify such a position.

Iron Maiden - No, I respect them for influencing some bands that I enjoy, but I don't see a point in cheering on a canon artist that I've never myself enjoyed.

Jimi Hendrix - Yes, he has a sort of mystique surrounding him, and his playing style was highly entertaining.

Creedence Clearwater Revivial - No, even though I am a fan of these guys, they are not worthy of such a title.

Mission of Burma - N/A

Ludwig Van Beethoven - Yes, I've frequently listened to his sonatas and was mesmerized. His influence is well-deserved.

Its hard to believe that no one has voted for Creedence Clearwater Revival, these guys have sold over 26 million albums in the US alone and they were only together for a short period of time from 1967 until a decline & breakup in 1970, they played the Atlantic Pop Festival and Woodstock, their set was not included in the film Woodstock or its original soundtrack because John Fogerty felt the bands performance was subpar.
Here are just a few songs they released in a 3 year span.

Bad Moon Rising.
Green River.
Have You Ever Seen The Rain.
Who'll Stop The Rain.
Born On A Bayou.
Down On The Corner.
I heard It Through The Grapevine.
After the 70s breakup of CCR John Fogerty released,
Old Man Down The Road.
& Run Through The Jungle.
They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 1993.
In my personal opinion CCRs music stands with the best in Rock & Roll history and has influenced the music industry for over 40 years.

The Residents - Ill abstain from this one. I am nowhere near educated enough.

Iron Maiden - Hell yes. Influential, hard working and consistent band who have been as key a mainstream(ish) metal band as you're ever likely to get. Phenomenal live act who still sound tight to this day. No brainer.

Jimi Hendrix - Duh. No brainer also. A definite yes. In terms of musicians who come along, lean on what has come before them and still to a degree, turn a genre or a craft on its head by bringing things to the table that had rarely, or ever been seen or done before, Hendrix is a legend that deserves to be in any hall of fame.

Creedence Clearwater Revivial - I do have some CCR and i like it. However i dont feel educated enough so im gonna abstain from this one too. This was very nearly a yes as i have a real feeling that if i gave more time to what i already have and maybe explore their discography a little more i would have no diubt. But as i havent, im undecided.

Mission of Burma - Abstain from this too im afraid. I know nothing.

Ludwig Van Beethoven - I dont listen to much classical music but of the few artists i have checked out, Beethoven is one of them and i have enjoyed him greatly. A yes for me.

Iron Maiden - No. I like what they've done, but not who they've inspired.

Mission of Burma - pornography for the paleo-hipster. No.

Ludwig Van Beethoven - I was no fan of the Nazi's...but alright, sure.
