Empty Room is catchy as hell though, and that violin thing is awesome.

I honestly cannot stand Month of May, Half Light (1&2), or Empty Room.
Sprawl II and We Used To Wait are still fantastic though.

IMO none of the songs are bad, but it does feel like a pretty epic listen... and you may have a point, there is definitely a place for short sharp and shiny...

I was p*ssed because they did their encore of Keep The Car Running and Neighborhood #3 (Power Out), but I thought they weren't gonna play Wake Up... then they did.

Near perfect playlist. Near perfect band. I consider them a favourite band because of The Suburbs as well.

Brilliant show.

I don't think they're sleep inducing, but they are simpler in form than say, some of the songs on Funeral... that's an observation I made last night when I re - listened to Funeral for the first time since hearing The Suburbs... that's not necessarily a bad thing though, if the songs work well as simpler songs... and they most definitely do. To me, The Suburbs pretty effectively tells its story whilst being highly enjoyable all at once...

You mean Sprawl II, right? They played Power Out earlier in the show.

They played one of the Neighborhood's towards the end I'm sure, but yeah they played Sprawl II and the drums messed up. I really liked Sprawl II.

Either way, whatever they played was great. You had 3 or 4 old favourites and a load of great new songs. Really well put together, I thought they put the new songs and old songs together really well. Then again, some people hadn't really heard The Suburbs by the 5th, because it was out on the 3rd in America. I had been listening for about 2 weeks, and I know the songs pretty much inside out.
