sxe - straight ****ing what now?? (lyrics, house, bands)

maybe i've been living in the dark ages but suddenly out of the blue has popped this new littfe fad that if i recall has been dubbed straight edge, so far from a few of the wierdos that are tryihng to live by it i have decifered that it means you listen to throw down, use the letter 'x' alot, don't drink, smoke, take any drugs of any form and the music quite frankly is just a bit naff, just (and i feel a bit old saying this) is a bit of a noise, i mean im not knocking the majority of bands that 'scream' as apose to just sing but its not even creative writing its just a constant breakdown with some lyrics that just seem thrown together, no technicalities, no feel, im just woundering what the point of all this 'straight edge' stuff really is? how's it meant to be enjoyed exactly??? because it certainly would suck for me...

Straight edge? new little fad? Straight edge new? ok....learn your facts before you whine about something..and i see nothing wrong with this fad, it sure as hell is better then kids drinking and smoking pot. Oh, non creative lyrics too? *snigger* minor threat's lyrics kick ass.

Am i supposed to be looking out for myself and be apathetic towards other kids, just because its their lives and not mine? Sorry, I'd much rather see a fad that promotes healthy living then see smoking is cool anyday.

well i personally couldn't really give a toss if you snuffed it i mean what do i care. plus if you'd care to read what i said as apose to just getting all pissy because i don't appreciate the sheer 'genius' that is straight edge, i didn't really knocked the lifestyle, was just curious to what the point of it was, its mostly the music that i find dry and uninteresting, plus look, you don't smoke pot and your an edgy ****. pot does nothing to promote violence it relaxes and all it does is cause slightly less damage to the lungs than smoking, if your concerned for the kids of today try picketing outside mcdonalds instead of knocking pot. i mean the fact that one fast food company causes more death than smoking pot you'd think that people would sorta point they're attention to something thats not at all beneficial and causes a problem for public health on a much larger scale, or do you just sit on your arse all day remenising with your arrogant 'straight edge' friends about how much better you are than the god awfull pot smokers like me that are knocking 10 years off their life by smoking those dreadfull joints. i mean they'll never be able to appreciate growing old enough to be able to **** themselves in public again and have a bed nurse clean it up, poor stupid buggers that we are. it's arrogant ****s like you that make it so i can't smoke a joint outside my own bloody house

I smoke pot and i strongly regret doing it and hate myself for it, and McDonalds is bad and i don't support it either i think its good for the youth to not be on drugs or is that such a bad thing?

it's not a bad thing at all but neither does it give you the right to shoot me down because i dont agree with you in the larger scheme of things, the fact that you provoked an arguement out of nothing when all i did was mearly express my curiosity for something i havent seen before is whats insulting. was a bit unnecessary to be honest.

no, i just think they should have the freedom to choose wether or not to smoke pot and since when was it 'kids' i was drawing my attention to or were you just trying to make everything as dramatic as you posibly could? i generally think that weed is less harmfull than smoking and if either of the two should be eliminated (cause god knows society will never be able to eliminate both) it should be smoking.
