I know I'll have to beat this first before I play Dead Dpace 2..
Now with certain games I know I'll love I'll just get all the games in that series..like I did with Uncharted..God of War..Infamous..Bioshock...Prince of Persia (Now all those series I had to get the whole collection.)
I seen the trailer for Dead Space 3 and it doesn't look scary at all pretty disappointing. :/

Probably the best video game ever made.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is easily the scariest game I've played in recent memory and shits all over what Dead Space tries to do. Horror is a hard thing to do and it's hard to quantify what makes something scary and what makes something that tries to be scary, not scary. The problem I have with Dead Space is that it's less about horror and more about startles. There is some decent atmosphere in the beginning, but it never really builds on it, and that's largely because of the combat. Combat and survival-horror go hand-in-hand, but with Dead Space it's all about dismemberment, and in order to properly defeat an enemy (which you're suppose to do), and with that kind of specfic combat style, you're forced to constantly have a good idea of what the enemy looks like, and that's a problem because your imagination is no longer doing the work.

Conversely in Amnesia: The Dark Descent, you're always unarmed so there's no combat, you have a very finite light source, and you can never see the horrorable shambling monsters that persue you, and if you do your sanity drops and controlling your character becomes troublesome which makes you even more vulnerable. Hell, you don't even get the idea that you're being persued by anything until a good 30-40 minutes into the game, but there's always this chill up your spine. That's good pacing because your mind is already conjuring its own idea of what's scary, with the added bonus of never really getting to see the monsters, those conjurations are always with you, and nobody knows how to scare you better than yourself.

If you have a PC that can handle Amnesia and like horror you should definitely get it, just be warned if you have Intel video cards you won't be able to play it, but if you have NVIDA or ATI you should be fine.

It's not going to be a horror game at all, it's going to be straight action. The game has to sell 5 million copies just to justify its development costs so you can bet that they're going to try and tap into the full 3rd person shooter action market by junking as much of the "horror" elements as they can justify.

^I'll look into getting Amnesia, I found it on Steam for like 20 bucks. As for the Dead Space games, I can't say I completely agree on the horror factor, because it does scare the living hell out of me, but I do know where you're coming from. I think Dead Space 3 will be really cool visually because the games have a good grasp on graphics and using them well, so having a game that's more outside and environmental may play a part in how good the game will look.

That ****in sickens me :/ it's extremely disappointing..It looks more like a Mass Effect type of game..I wonder if heavy Dead Space fans will love it as much as the first two, the graphics look great but graphics aren't everything....the story and gameplay are (well at least to me)

I don't agree that Amnesia ****s all over what Dead Space tries to do. They're completely different games. Aside from the fact things can whack you, Amnesia doesn't have combat while in Dead Space, combat is basically the game. In the end, Dead Space does what it does really well. So does Amnesia. People should get past the idea that if Dead Space can't make you **** your pants with fear, it's somehow failed. I don't think that's what the Dead Space developers were trying to do. They've made an exciting 3rd person shooter. Amnesia is the one trying to make you crap your pants and that's basically what the game's got to offer.

I've completed them both and liked them both, though for me Dead Space was the more memorable of the two. But considering Amnesia is a game by a very small developer, the comparison is not entirely fair.

The upcoming games I'm excited about/looking forward to...and probably going to pre-order this week are:

Assassin's Creed 3 (idk where to start with this)

Bioshock Infinite (fan of the series of course)

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (I haven't even played the first one but the demo gameplay I seen on youtube is ****in stellar!)

God of War: Ascension (Fan of the series)

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 (Incredible gameplay..possibly the best I ever seen for a fighting game..this is going to be groundbreaking.)

OK YOU GUYS I KNOW THIS IS TOUGH TO DECIDE BUT WHICH GAME DO YOU LIKE MORE AND WHICH IS SCARIER?

BIOSHOCK VS. DEAD SPACE ? (series)

I've been playing this quite a bit recently. Reaching the third full moon reminded me why I don't play RPGs that often: I forget to level grind and get my ass kicked by a boss. :/
