I saw Blue Velvet and Wild At Heart at theaters as well. I took a hiatus from Lynch after the latter of the two--it was getting too much like "freaky for the sake of being freaky." The next thing Lynch did that I saw was The Straight Story. I didn't think he could pull off a good G rated movie. But he did.

I can understand why some people would walk on on Pink Flamingoes. But I saw it at a repertory cinema where most of the audience members were already fans of John Waters' films, so few if any people walked out. I've never seen Only God Forgives. But I read about it on www.imdb.com and can understand why some folks would head for the exits. |
