^ the actor that played BP was good, but Valerie Perrine, who played MW, was just a hack tv actress & sucked. The Dresden scenes were decent but Tralfamadore was utter 70's cheese.

Never saw BoC. I saw the first few minutes of HBWJ on tv but fell asleep

I liked Mother Night, but it's really the only "lesser known" Vonnegut I've read. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of him or of Burroughs for that matter. Hubert Selby and Bukowski are more my speed.

Nothing is quite a good film with a few execution issues.

Is that unpopular? Those are my favorite two

Here's mine: Martin's A Game of Thrones is boring as ****, far outshined by the GoT HBO adaptation season one. I like the subsequent books though

You know I actually agree with that last one. I really haven't had much of a desire to go back and read A Game of Thrones, but I think that's kind of the problem with long running book series', when you see how awesome the characters get by the end. It's hard to seem them go back to the beginning, before the trials and tribulations that would transform them into the characters we love now.

As for the HBO series' first season, it was beautifully realized in scale and did a wonderful job bringing the world to life. The first book in a series is always setup, and you can do setup in a lot more depth in a visual medium, a stage an author could devote several paragraphs to describing can be done in a few carefully arranged frames if you've got a competent director, which the TV series has had up to until Alex Graves fucked the dog in "Breaker of Chains".

Oh also, word up on Dead Eye Dick

Agree with this so much, something about cancer books just gives me the creeps. I think it's really exploitative.

Sirens of Titans is one of my favorite Vonnegut books, though Slapstick is the absolute top of the heap for me.

Mother Night is one of the only ones of his books I haven't read.
