Straight Edge is when you do not use drugs, smoke, or drink, or f'uck. some people say you have to be a vegan to be straight edge. some people don't even eat sugar. what do you guys think about this life style?

I couldn't follow it. But I respect the people that have the disipline to follow it. And I think they practice Abstainance instead of just not screwing period.

he's correct, its only casual sex that straight edgers dont practice. i respect people who are straight edge, although nothing pisses me off more than an uppity straight edge kid who feels he needs to preech and even use violence to enforce his own beleifs. my friends and i got in a fight with a "crew" of straight edgers who saw us smoking a joint and flipped out, started pushing us around. i have no respect for those kind of fascists.

Yea, um it kind of makes me giggle when people post "Straight edge is this and that" It makes me wonder if you;ve ever listened to minor threat(original proponents) In case you havnt listen to Out of step and take note of the part in the song that goes "Now this is no set of rules" I wish you people would get over trying to adhere to labels put into place 20 years ago and start living your own life instead of quoting wikipedia.

Yea, Ian has baisically disowned the straight edge movement because it turned from being a positive personal choice to some sort of club, at least thats what he said.

Not eating sugar has nothing to do with being straight edge. Nor does avoiding caffeine. It's the fact that it's making your body act/feel a certain way (unnaturally). You should know that being straight edge, means you're living a healthy, poison-free, natural life. Whether you take it to the next level and choose not to drink caffeine or to live a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle is up to you. The end.
