Default What should I call my band?

I've started up a new band, pop punk with ramones/screeching weasel/blink/green day influences. having a hard time thinking up an original eye catching name though. any suggestions?

I'd go with "We're a Band, and We Play Music"

I'm sure you know, but seriously think this one through - this thread will result in two possibilities:
(1) You get suggested a band name you like.
(2) People troll the shit out of this thread.
If (1) is true, then what could possibly be lamer than being interviewed and the question "where does your band name come from?" being answered with: "uh, I got it off an internet forum". If (2) is true (more likely), any band named something "hilarious" like "The Wankshafts" is going to be the most annoying and unoriginal novelty you can come up with.

So here's something I hope might help - if you're after something that sounds memorable or even just cool, best avoid deeply thought out "words full of personal meaning" stuff. Something that has a nice ring to it is really what you want to find, perhaps listen to some of your favourite songs and any particularly cool sounding phrase is worth considering.

^With someone with the name "Iplayguitarpleaseshagme", they're just asking for people to troll the thread.

Well, I guess so. To be frank, for something like a band name, it's got to be you as a band, coming to somewhere as impersonal as an international internet forum is either out of stupidity, complete laziness or trolling. Nevertheless I felt like giving him some advice.

Me and some of my neighbours had a band for about three weeks to have some fun over summer - it was called "the Legends and Pete". Thought that was quite fitting really because instantly we knew who the drummer was. The point is it's something that has to be your own, you can't ask people you know nothing about.
