I hate both Metallica and Iron Maiden and all other metal. But I hate Metallica a little bit more then Iron Maiden so I chose them.

power metal is characterized by the sound. Duel Guitar solo's and octave harmonies = power metal. Iron Maiden was the first for the solo's and one of the first for the octave harmonies

The defining characteristic of powermetal is the pace of the rhythm and scrote squeezing pitch of the lyrics and screams. The introduction of the duel solo's and octave harmonies are a rather new introduction much instigated by Dragonforce. Dragonforce are powermetal, but powermetal is not Dragonforce.

St. Anger seems to have given everyone Memory loss. I don't care what anyone says, Ill stand alone on this island if I have to but Metallica pushed Metal much much farther into what the genre could do and become. You all bow down and pay homage that they came along or else you'd be worshiping Tolken Fan-boi's all the time.

Lyrically pertinent.
Technically Superb.
Overly Passionate.
Progressive Beyond compare.

And if your basis for hating them has to do with anything post-black or Hetfields voice, well your arguing preference not stats.
