Metallica or Megadeth (albums, beatles, Nirvana, member, solo)

Hey. I've been wondering for a while now who is the better band out f the two, if any?

Megadeth, or Metallica?

I personally think that Megadeth is the better of the two. They have better riffs, solo's etc.

Please post your views so that this can finally be answered.

They both kinda followed the same path, both had great early albums and then fizzled out. But I'll go with megadeth because they stayed true longer, metallica went mtv too soon.

i dunno. im a metallica man. up until reload, there was no comparison, but after that....well mtv indeed. and st anger i heard and didnt even bother with. but i am in love with the eighties metallica, always have and always will be. though saying this, i am also a huge megadeath fan. the solos and technical skills shown i agree are allmost unrivalled

Megadeth gets my vote now, but ten years ago my vote probably would of went to Metallica. Rust In Peace do you belong to megadeth.com? You should check it out if you haven't already.

Metallica for the fact that they pushed boundaries dude.They decided to do something totally original by bringing classical elements into thrash music.This is due to Cliff Burton,possibly the greatest bassist of all time.They dared to be different and f*ck me how they've succeded.There not the most respected band on the planet for no reason.In 20yrs time,they'll be remembered like The Beatles,Black Sabbath and Nirvana.And I'll have great pride in telling my kids I saw Metallica and Black Sabbaths original line-up!!

i'd have to go with metallica, mostly because of their first four albums. great stuff.

megadeth is still great though, with albums like Rust in Peace and Peace Sells...
