Often, the banned member's offending posts will be deleted and so reports like that could put the banned user in a worse light than he/she would otherwise be. Hence, perhaps there should be some level of discretion - not the keeping it a secret kind, but perhaps we shouldn't advertise the reasons why when people are banned.

But, if someone sends me a PM asking me why I banned someone, I'm happy to explain with quotations of the offending posts etc. It's only natural members of the community are curious, interested or even offended which is perfectly alright, so don't hesitate to send a PM.
Wow, wasn't expecting a solid response here. Thanks, well said. I will send you a PM if I am ever curious. Just seemed like having it on their profile would be pretty easy. You can already see your own infractions, I don't see anything bad coming from letting the rest of the MB members know why someone got the axe.
