There was a case where it happened in new york but I don't think it could happen in texas because I thought in that state as long as they are on your property you have the right to shoot their ass.

While he was on the phone with the cops he shouted at them to freeze. You hear the phone drop and then a shotgun blast. Then he hollers at another guy and blasts again. He shot both the theives and caught a murder case on it. They were playing the call all week on the radio. I dont know what ended up happening to him. He probally got sent to prison for defending his property.

The way you tell that story it doesn't sound like he was defending his property. If he shot the two guys that were breaking into the house next to him. That's probably where he got caught up. He probably also didn't have his papers in order to own the gun maybe.
