I believe it has happened before. I feel like there are some very outrageous lawsuits that happen in the USA and are won by the plaintiff. Having said that, I think they are very rare and the rest of the world probably has the impression they happen more than they actually do.

Everyone is always trying to make a cheap buck anyway they can.

Seems like ive heard about something like that happening. I wouldnt doubt it at all. Yeah the hot coffe is a great example of america's justice system. Not to long ago somewhere around Dallas there was a call recorded. A man was getting robbed or just got robbed and the theives were breaking into the house next to him as well. While he was on the phone with the cops he shouted at them to freeze. You hear the phone drop and then a shotgun blast. Then he hollers at another guy and blasts again. He shot both the theives and caught a murder case on it. They were playing the call all week on the radio. I dont know what ended up happening to him. He probally got sent to prison for defending his property.

depends on the person though. They could call the cops and say you assaulted them. It happens way too much in this bitch ass city I live in. I find myself turning the other cheek quite often when someone wants to insult me. That's all they do in this place is talk talk talk. They are scared little pussies.

There was a case where it happened in new york but I don't think it could happen in texas because I thought in that state as long as they are on your property you have the right to shoot their ass.

The way you tell that story it doesn't sound like he was defending his property. If he shot the two guys that were breaking into the house next to him. That's probably where he got caught up. He probably also didn't have his papers in order to own the gun maybe.
