Aside from the whole getting paid less thing, the whole ****ing Republican party is doing its best to put women back in the kitchen, turning back the clock and erasing what feminists fought for way back when. We don't want to be men, we want to be PEOPLE. I mean really, if you're against feminism, you are a ****ing idiot. Women should ALWAYS consider themselves feminists, and the ones who don't are always the ones who feel that womankind's rightful place is serving the men. Anytime we want to stand up for ourselves, our femininity is questioned. Really? Do any of you even watch the news? They want to defund Planned Parenthood, women have been jailed for THINKING about abortion, and someone even wants miscarriages investigated for possible murder. Yet birth control for horses is a possibility. Why should women not be extremists in this case? Why does a man feel its necessary to determine my femininity? I think that's up to me, thanks.

Actually.... the Republican party has been promoting feminism (even though they are against abortion). They had many candidates that ran in the 2010 congressional races who were female, such as Michelle Bachman and Christine O'Donnell (albeit, both of whom I'm not a fan of). I actually heard media figures at Fox (such as Bill O'Reilly and Shawn Hannity) promoting women's rights and women in general (at the expense of attacking the Democratic party). And yes, I watch the news everyday, and I think the GOP's attacks against Planned Parenthood and NPR are unnecessary and politically-motivated...
But you and I both know they won't succeed.
Now, while I am not a person to advocate abortion, I am certainly for the right for women to control their own bodies. However, I still do not understand why feminists should advocate extremism. The populace does not care for extremism and, for the most part, they do not take it very seriously (unless there are terrorist attacks). Look at the Tea Party as an example, most people don't really take it as a serious organization
because of their outrageous behavior. Now... I think if any women should be angry about true, typical oppression, then it should be those from the Middle East and not those from a free, civilized country.
