The Lilys are great, especially that album. They definitely shifted their sound more than any other shoegaze band. "A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns" is their last straightforward shoegaze album. "Eccsame the Photon Band" moved to straight ahead dream pop and eventually the moved on to alternative. Listening to "In the Presence of Nothing" and then "Everything Wrong Is Imaginary" makes it seem as if it's a totally different band. I wish they had stuck with the shoegaze for a while since they do it so well, but it's nice to see a band that's not afraid to do things completely different from what is expected.
