how are DOA mainstream, i do not see them selling out arenas, playing on award shows, hanging out with celebrities... Black Flag, Minor Threat, Dead Kennedys... when was the last time you saw them on any major network or american idol?
they are not mainstream, we are just in a time where it has become mainstream to like the underground.
NOFX maybe, had more a mainstream appeal. But that was due to their hard work, and commitment to everything, they didn't just start out on MTV... they just got lucky and MTV played them.
On top of that they did it all on a small label, not on a major...
