Worked for my last anthro mid term. Had to know all of the anthro theories (evolutionism functionalism etc) but I didn't know crap about linguistics. That was the other half of the test. So I practised using the whole buzzwords thing and ended up with a suave 96%. Its nice because if you know atleast a little bit about the topics the buzzwords can guide you immensly.

This might be good advice for liberal arts majors, but it's a shi
tty way to prepare for an analytic exam. I just had a test in modeling of dynamic systems, buzz words on my exam were ones like "linearization of the state space model", "step response of a second-order system", "non-homogeneous differential equation", i.e. technical jargon that requires understanding rather than memorization to process.
I don't think I even remember how to study for "memorize a bunch of sh
it" tests anymore. Thank satan that period of my academic career is over.
