Its no different than my preference is with male vocalist actually. It all depends on the style and sound of the individual vocalist first and foremost, and of course personal preference.

I like/prefer strong projecting vocalist when it comes to female singers, vocalist like Annie Lennox, Patty Smyth, Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson, Toni Braxton, etc.
