And, it only gets better on subsequent viewings. At least I think so, although I do make sure enough time passes so that I don't get tired of it.
Consider also checking out The Fisher King by Terry Gilliam. That one and Brazil are his two finest, I think.

Time Bandits, what a movie! It's fascinating that someone (Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin) could write something so silly and make a film out of it. For those who haven't seen it, it is, roughly speaking about a boy who joins up with a gang of robbers (all midgets) travelling through time using a map they stole from God while working for him. It's completely bizarre and sprinkled throughout with silly and often quite dark humour. Not brilliant by any means, but entertaining and it's such a curiosity that film buffs who haven't seen it will want to anyways. My favourite part is the brilliant ending.
