Just my opinion, I'm sure there are others who disagree but I don't see how they can defend such a position.

One thing that has changed in the time I've been a mod here is that the number spammers and the amount of member drama has increased quite a bit. I guess you'll have to forgive the mod team for spending our time dealing with that as opposed to "kickstarting incredibly interesting and diverse threads", but maybe instead of just complaining, you could try kickstarting some threads of your own.
