I also have good memories of my local record library; I was very impressed to find half a dozen albums of Tibetan music in it, as well as spoken-word recordings and lots of other strange stuff.

s_k. I`m such a sad case, I`m reading the category labels and wishing I was there ...
I used to buy records from a similar shabby dive called Notting Hill Record Exchange in SW London. It had a great combination of low prices and (by my standards) obscure albums. Got most of my John Fahey from there.
