I've always thought it odd that what a lot of people consider to be "the best live act" doesn't usually offer you the opportunity to actually be anywhere near the band, but rather revolves around the production and stage effects. IMO, the best live show I've ever been to gave me the chance to be packed 150 kids deep in a very small, very acoustic basement only 3 feet from the group. Being able to hop on stage with the actual performers and scream your head off is basically what makes shows worthwhile to me, or just the fact that you're there more as a means of being a part of something rather than all the standing and waiting, then finally getting to watch the act from afar. More often than not the musics better too
