I feel the same way about Primus and Claypool's noodlery within the band.I actually bought that album the day it was released and I remember That it didn't hold my interest for very long.
However, some of his side projects (Oysterhead, Fearless Flying Frog Brigade) Have him quite a bit more subdued in flippity-flippity-flop dept. As a bonus Frog Brigade has been known to play Pink Floyd's
Animals from start to finish live, although they've never managed to do it the few times I've seen them.
