Some people listen to their music like they wear fashion, to let people know who they are or what they want to be, this is wrong. Music should be listened to for how it makes us feel not for the ego or public image.

I agree. And I don't care less if people like what I like, I have complete confidence in what I like. And I can search for what I like, I'm not so lazy as to have to ask people for things that I might like.
