I thought Koloss was a weaker album than Obzen and certainly weaker than the rest of their discography. There are only a couple songs I really enjoyed on the album. It has been said that Meshuggah was taking a more organic approach, but I think they thought this was achievable by slowing down their songs. The relentless pummeling of Meshuggah is great when it is at Meshuggah speed. Slowed down, however, it is incredibly boring.
