If you've had it constantly for five years, I wouldn't hesitate to say you have clinical depression. It's not always like it is on films where the characters drown themselves in whiskey and try to off themselves every given opportunity–but it can certainly impede your quality of life.
I'd consider seeing a physician you trust. What could it hurt?
