As for jazz, yeah I dislike it too. I find it overpretentious, meandering and boring. It freezes my soul. You haven't heard enough jazz if you'd describe all jazz and "wandering and pretentious". Whether it's your cup of tea or not, I really don't see how you could apply those words to something like this:
