The Byrds were influence by Dylan, The Beatles, and Folk (Folk Revival) they were not much of a Surf band - I don't know where you are going with that. The Beach Boys had their own influences Dick Dale, The Lettermen (I think that's the band) Phil Spector, and later The Beatles.
