The Byrds were influence by Dylan, The Beatles, and Folk (Folk Revival) they were not much of a Surf band - I don't know where you are going with that. The Beach Boys had their own influences Dick Dale, The Lettermen (I think that's the band) Phil Spector, and later The Beatles.

Pet Sounds influenced Notorious Byrd Brothers
you should check out that album it's pretty awesome and very smooth..
the beach boys were mostly influenced by Phil Spector..The Four Freshmen...Chuck Berry..The Beatles...

I think so. They were a vocal trio who were label mates with The Beach Boys in The 60's on Capitol who had a number of success in The US. Certainly it would be safe to say that the very tight harmonies did influence them a bit

Well, he was a figure in their history at least for 1969, especially with Dennis. The album 20/20 included a cover with altered words of Manson's "Cease to Exist" as "Never Learn Not to Love".

I know that song is one of my favorite songs by dennis and the boys
