While you're right, you did get Nirvana often enough in the mainstream it was still a breath of fresh air mixed in with the crap. It was never an 'all the time' kind of thing like so many people make it out to be. More like, 'did they already play Nirvana this afternoon?' while sitting through some crappy Boyz 2 Men video or similar drek.
