The year was 2006, Tony Blair was still PM and the the western radiostations were shocked by the hither-known talent of Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo when the song "Crazy" took over the summer's radio stations. The world was shocked by the death of Steve Irwin and the scientific community's revelation that Pluto was in fact not a planet. North Korea conducted their very first nuclear bomb test, and the world collectively shat its pants in terror.
That's seriously all I remember about that pointless year.
