Guy, if you can't stay on topic in the OP, you need to do some revising.
Now, the notion that doom is underrated seems ridiculous. Even if you go to non-metal specific soures (needle drop, pitchfork, etc) you see Doom bands getting attention. Cathedral, The Sword, Electric Wizard, etc.... |

Everyone gets attention. I personally have very rarely seen doom pop up anywhere. Found the genre coincidentally. Whereas with bands like The Amity Affliction, who suck, by the way, are rapidly rising to fame.
