Youtube's quite a good indication of what and what not is popular, since it's the biggest video-sharing website out there. When there's a new band getting big, you'll start to see them around.

The vocalist sounds terrible, & this is not an unusual opinion:

I strongly disagree with you, especially when you say that SA have awful vocals. How so?
Guy, if you can't stay on topic in the OP, you need to do some revising.

Now, the notion that doom is underrated seems ridiculous. Even if you go to non-metal specific soures (needle drop, pitchfork, etc) you see Doom bands getting attention. Cathedral, The Sword, Electric Wizard, etc....

Could you link me to a bad performance? He's not bad here, and this was just 4 months ago.

And you posted that comment on the studio version, and I'm lost on how the vocals were bad at all then...

Everyone gets attention. I personally have very rarely seen doom pop up anywhere. Found the genre coincidentally. Whereas with bands like The Amity Affliction, who suck, by the way, are rapidly rising to fame.
