I've seen the cats on a leash thing before
, it does look odd at first but it's quite common round here now; I've seen it loads.

They are definitely nice animals; very majestic and smart, I can see why people like them so much.
I used to hate them until about a year or two ago though, was always more of a dog person because we lived next door to an aggressive cat who would scratch all the time. Now it's the opposite, I can't stand dogs, way too dirty and they all stink. Whereas cats are clean and a lot of them actually smell nice.
