Than do as you said you would do. Send her a text or just give her a call just to tell her what you know now. Just let her know that you wanted to patch things up and move on. It's honestly the only thing you can do to move on. Your girlfriend doesn't need to be involved. And if she asks, just say you're trying to wrap up some old faults.
