Just because females are underrepresented in music doesn't mean they aren't as good. Females are underrepresented in a plethora of industries due to the fact that males, in some cases, have more opportunities to become successful. It doesn't mean female singers are of any less merit. Especially if you are going back in time to eras where sexism was still more prevalent.
